Naohiro Ukawa

Naohiro Ukawa’s wide-ranging output includes work as a video artist, graphic designer, VJ, writer, professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design, and “artist of the contemporary.” Always striving to erase the existing frameworks of fine art and mass culture, he is a self-professed “media rapist” and “media therapist” whose activities are the most free of all artists in Japan today. In March 2010, he radically changed his career by launching his own live streaming channel, DOMMUNE, which he still runs today. Continuing to break its own view records and attract international attention, the channel was chosen as a Jury Selection at the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival.
